Meet the Saturday Dentists
Dr. Andrew Kokabi
Dr. K is an Atlanta native having lived here for over 30 years. He attended Georgia Tech where he obtained his biological science degree. After graduating with highest honors, he then attended the Medical College of Georgia where he obtained his DMD.
Dr. Kokabi is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, & the Hinman Dental Society. He is a faculty member at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Oral Rehabilitation Department. He frequently volunteers at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic.
Dr. K is a lover of 90s music and football. He enjoys attending concerts and sporting events.
Dr. Kokabi & his wife have lived and worked in Brookhaven since 2009. Dr. Kokabi does work some Saturdays. However, he does not want to miss out his sons' childhood, so most of the time he lets Dr. B and Dr. M handle Saturdays.
Dr. Maya Basu
Dr. Maya Basu is originally from Forsyth County. She attended UGA, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics with a minor in Public Health. Dr. Basu then attended the UT College of Dentistry in Memphis, where she obtained her DDS degree.
Dr. Basu is passionate about giving back to her community. She has volunteered numerous times for Remote Area Medical all across the USA. Also, numerous times she has traveled to Jharkhand, India and put her dental training to good use while volunteering at the Satsang Charitable Hospital.
In her spare time, she enjoys working out and spending time with family.
Dr. Andrew Monell
Dr. Andrew Monell is originally from outside of Lexington, KY. He attended the University of Louisville for both undergrad and dental school. He then continued his education with a residency at the University of Texas School of Dentistry. He has specialty training in complex oral rehabilitation and extractions.
After living in Austin, TX for a few years, Dr. Monell and his wife relocated to Atlanta to be closer to family. They currently live in the Chamblee/Brookhaven area. In his spare time, Dr. M enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife, and exploring all of Atlanta's restaurants.
Dr. Ashley Roberts
Dr. Roberts is an Ivy League double graduate form the University of Pennsylvania. She is originally from the beautiful island of Barbados. She grew up around a family business that is over 75 years old that truly shaped some of her work principles including helping others and delivering excellent customer service.
She left to pursue dentistry at 18 years old as there is not a dental school on the island. She earned a Barbados scholarship through her regional examinations and attended the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a Bachelors in Chemistry, followed by a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She also completed a general practice residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
She enjoyed working at a health clinic for a few years while living in Brooklyn where patient care was of the utmost importance. She recently relocated to Georgia with her husband who also practices within the profession.
When she's not practicing dentistry, she enjoys doing puzzles and dancing ! Her favorite genre of dance is salsa.
